Let’s Talk Tomatoes

We did not just dice some tomatoes and throw them on top! We took the time to get to know the tomatoes and how to make them sparkle. The number one thing that makes them shine is say it with me….SALT! Well not just the salt, the other herbs and seasonings play a factor as well.

the tomatoes

When it comes to picking the tomato for this recipe we suggest something juicy like a Roma tomato or cherry tomatoes. But these are just our thoughts, feel free to pick whatever tomatoes you love!

Our Guide to Avocado Tomato Toast

Don’t want to bore ya! So here’s a short list of things to do for an excellent avocado tomato toast experience:

  1. Make the bruschetta style tomatoes a day in advance. This allows enough time to help develop the flavor profile.
    • Not a huge fan of basil? Instead of basil, try cilantro. We tested both herbs in our bruschetta and kinda dig both of them!
  2. Try to use fresh ingredients only, instead of dried or frozen. The overall taste might not be as satisfying as freshly picked ingredients.
  3. Slice your bread of choice 1/4 inch thick and make sure it’s nicely toasted.
  4. Smash the avocado and season generously with salt and pepper (sliced avocado is too much work for this snack attack, keep it simple and easy).
    • Don’t forget about the fresh lime juice!
  5. Lastly top off this avocado tomato snack attack with an organic balsamic glaze.
    • This one contains all real and natural ingredients.
